The words used on the cover such as ‘Music’ ‘Stars’ and ‘Style’ immediately attract the target audience as these are the things that the audience are interested in. Also ’79 ways to change your look’ will appeal to the target audience of females as they are fashion conscious and worry about their appearance. Other coverlines such as ‘Here come the boys’ appeal to the target market, as the audience is mainly female so they would like magazine that feature main stories about their favourite male musicians. The other features on the cover such as 'WIN' in the bold pink and yellow circle stand out to the reader and would catch their eye. People will also buy it to see what the competition is if they think they have a chance of winning a big, exclusive prize from it.
This magazine uses a bright and bold colour scheme. The yellows, reds and pinks immediately single it out as appealing to females, the target audience would primarily be females as they also are interested in the tv show that the magazine originates from, they are also interested in the type of music it features. The picture on the front of a artist wearing lots of make up and having an elaborate hairstyle makes it appeal to them also. The picture on the front also makes direct eye contact with the reader so it connects with them. All the other pictures of artists are also looking straight at the camera lens.
The magazine uses an informal mode of address which suggests it is not too serious and it seems more of a gossip magazine that people shouldn’t take as complete fact and it is quite light hearted.
The fonts used on this page are mainly serif fonts. Accompanying the editors letter is his name written in a handwriting font this makes the letter seem more real and personal to the reader. It is in an informal tone as it uses ‘A-mazing’ like you are speaking in real life, aswell as slang such as ‘LOL’, it would appeal to the audience as it is the type of language they use. There are many bright colours used on the contents page, they attract attention and contrast the white background causing them to stand out, clear to read and catch the eye.
There is a mixture of images used, some from photoshoots taken by the magazine itself, and some taken from other places such as the ones of the celebrities on the streets. The picture of the boyband westlife, continues the theme from the front page (ie, the look of the band) it also creates further eye contact with the reader and would appeal to them.
'Its time to face' at the begining of the page is an alternative of naming the page 'contents' like most magazines. 'Its time to face' is taken from the tv show the x-factor and would be a good thing familar to fans of the show reading/buying the magazine purely for that reason.

The headline of this page is a pull quote from the interview itself. This quote inparticular is a highlight from the interview that would attract viewers, who are interested in the story of Katie on the X-factor and what she things 'she shouldn't say'. The quote is in a bold black on the top of the page. This stands out, also with 'Exclusive' hightlighted in yellow at the top of the page. The black writing up against the plain white background makes it clear and easy to read.
The doublepage spread includes a picture of Katie that covers the middle of the who pages, with the interview with her arranged around it. The interview is in columns and easy to read. The questions to Katie are in a different colour to her response.
Each picture included has a quirky comment/caption at the bottom of it. These are extra things added to break up the block of picture and to illustrate the page.
